Ajose - I'm Delighted To Be Back Home

31 January 2017

Nicky Ajose has declared himself "delighted" to be back at Swindon Town and he now can’t wait to get started again.

The striker re-joined the Reds from Charlton Athletic on loan until the end of the season earlier today, and he’s now relishing the prospect of getting back to what he does best.

“It was a simple decision to come back,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“I get on with the staff and everyone involved at the club and when I knew they were interested it was an easy decision for me.

“I’ve got great memories of my two previous spells here.

“I didn’t envisage coming back so quickly but that’s football and I’m just delighted to be back.

“I just want to try and play as many games as possible and just show people what I can do again.

“Everyone knows what I’m about and I want to come in and help us push us right up the table which is where we should be.

“It shows a commitment from the Chairman and he’s always been top drawer with me. He’s pushed the boat out time and time again to make it possible for me to come to the football club so I’ll always be grateful for that.

“I think it also shows the level of intent he has with the signings he’s made. Ben Gladwin has come back, you’ve got the Chelsea boys as well and there’s some real quality in the squad.”

Ajose will link-up with Town on Thursday for training and could well make his third debut for the club against Oxford United on Sunday – a game the striker is itching to be a part of.

“It is a big game and it is going to be a full house – it is going to be perfect,” he added.

“I was disappointed not to have made the Bristol Rovers game but this isn’t a bad third debut if I play!”

Finally, Ajose had a special message for the Town faithful after completing his return to Wiltshire.

“I’m delighted to be back home and just get behind the lads for the second-half of the season,” he continued.

“There’s sixteen games left and there are a lot of points to play for so let’s see where we can end up.”
