Ben Glad To Be Back

10 January 2017

New signing Ben Gladwin is chomping at the bit to get started after securing a return to The County Ground earlier today.

Town announced this morning that they had bolstered their ranks with the addition of the creative force, who will remain at SN1 on loan from QPR until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

With first-team football having been at a premium so far this season, Gladwin is now focused on playing week in and week out and helping pull the Reds away from the bottom of the table.

“It has been in the pipeline for a few weeks and I’ve known that I’ve wanted to get out and play,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“For me, the best place to come would always be here so we’ve known for a little while but it was just a case of getting it done.

“It was a very easy decision.

“It is a comfortable environment and obviously I know all the management and the way the club plays is important for me.

“I’ve got great memories here so it was very easy for me to come back.

“It has been a frustrating eighteen months since I left here because I’ve not been able to string together too many games back-to-back, so I want to come here and play as many games as possible until the end of the season and find myself again.”

Gladwin is available to feature against Bolton Wanderers this weekend and the midfielder can’t wait to get started.

“I’m really looking forward to it and Bolton is a huge club and it will be a good stadium to play at,” he added.

“Hopefully we can go there and get the job done.”

The 24-year-old has been brought in to help push Town up the Sky Bet League One table and he’s confident that there is enough quality in the dressing room to do just that.

“The group of players here boasts so much talent and for whatever reason at the moment it is not quite working but, having spoken to people, I don’t think it is missing too much,” he continued.

“If we win a few games then you’ll see us rise up the table.”

A full interview with Ben Gladwin will be available on our YouTube channel later today.
