Town First-Team Coach Ross Embleton has confirmed that he will field a strong side for today’s Central League clash against AFC Bournemouth.
Swindon’s second-string host the Cherries at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground in Royal Wootton Bassett later today (2pm Kick-Off), and the likes of Rohan Ince, Anton Rodgers, Islam Feruz and Jesse Starkey will all get a runout.
“I worked for Bournemouth for a year and I know what the club is all about right from the top all the way through to what they do at the Academy,” Embleton told swindontownfc.co.uk.
“It is a very impressive set-up so I expect the team they will put out today, albeit it may be a young one, will be a strong one.
“There will be a number of pros that will be playing for us today and that will make us a little bit stronger, but that doesn’t mean that it will make the game any easier or the performance will be better – we’ve still got to go out and set out to achieve what we want from the game.
“Rohan Ince will certainly play a part as will Islam Feruz, Dion Conroy, Jesse Starkey will get his first opportunity to impress and the likes of Jordan Stewart, Anton Rodgers, Will Henry and Tom Smith will also feature.
“Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill will get another opportunity to build on his fitness and there will be a few younger boys involved as well.
“We need to make sure minutes are achieved and it is a chance for some of the newer faces to show what they are about.
“These games are always about having mixed aspirations for the game, both individually and collectively and we need to make sure we start to prepare people and show them what we want when we go and play on a Saturday in League One.
“Each player will have their own targets and things to work on and develop and we need to make sure we see those within these performances.”
