Conroy Focused On Bouncing Back Against Northampton

13 February 2017

Dion Conroy admitted that he had mixed emotions in the wake of Town’s 1-0 defeat to Bury on Saturday, but he is now focused on bouncing back against Northampton Town tomorrow.

The defender made his full debut for the Reds after arriving from Premier League leaders Chelsea in January, although he found himself on the losing side after James Vaughan bagged a first-half penalty.

“I really enjoyed making my full debut but obviously the result wasn’t the one we wanted and I don’t think it was the one we deserved – we deserved three points,” he said.

“Everyone is gutted but we’ve got to move on to Tuesday now.

“It is just how football goes and sometimes you get the luck and sometimes you don’t, but hopefully Tuesday we’ll be able to put our chances away and we won’t get decisions (the penalty) like that go against us.

“We’ve just got to pick ourselves up and move on to Tuesday.

“We move Saturday to the side now and focus on getting the points on Tuesday.

“There is 14 or 15 games left and I think we only have to win half of them and we’ll be fine, so we’ve just got to keep thinking positive.”
