County Ground To Host Celebrity Football Game

For the second year running, Heart in Wiltshire have signed up two celebrity football teams to compete at The County Ground, Swindon, on Friday 19th May 2017 at 7:30pm.

The two star studded teams will go head to head to help raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise, supported by Tree Nightclub and Swindon Wildcats, tickets are just £7.00.

Heart Breakfast presenters Ben and Mel are recruiting their celebrity teams, including model and reality star Calum Best, soap stars Dean Gaffney and Jake Wood,along withTV celebs Stevi Ritchie, James Argent, Jamie O'Hara,Dan Osborne,Wayne Bridgeand Austin Armacost.

Calum Best will be returning for a second year and he said: “If you’re coming down to watch a good game of football you’ve got that. The lads come out before the game, at half time and after the game and interact and go and see as many people as they can. I’m so excited to come back.”

Other celebrities attending are: Jimmy Constable, Jay James, Che Chesterman, Liam Gatsby, Aaron Sidwell, Max Morley, James Hill, Nev Wilshire, MC Harvey, Jeff Brazier, Dean Edwards, Tubes, Franky Fryer, Rocket, Terry Alderton, Gav Ramjaum, Matt Lapinskas and Tony Discipline.

The game will be hosted by Heart Breakfast presenters Ben and Mel. Ben said: “We had so much fun last year and we are so pleased to bring it back, the game promises to be acelebrity riot so grab your selfie stickas showbiz meets football.” 

Mel said: “Make Some Noise is truly amazing - our listeners have made a huge difference to the lives of young children.” 

Make Some Noise gives a voice to more small charities and projects across Wiltshire and the UK that struggle to raise awareness, this April awarding Swindon Down’s Syndrome group £41,300 to provide quality speech therapy  for the next two years.

Global, the media & entertainment group, created Global’s Make Some Noise in 2014 to offer a voice and a lifeline to small charities and projects that are doing inspiring work to help disadvantaged youngsters but are struggling to be heard.  

Global unites its brands including Heart, Capital, LBC, Classic FM, Smooth, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold, to raise money and awareness for the projects it supports by giving them a platform to tell their stories to a weekly audience of 30 million.

Grants are awarded to projects across the UK that help disadvantaged youngsters living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.  In its first three years, Global’s Make Some Noise has raised nearly nearly £6 million and raised awareness for 135 incredible charities and projects around the UK.

Standard tickets for the celebrity  football are just £7 with ‘Match, Eat ‘n’ Greet’ tickets at £35. Kick-off is at 7:30pm with gates opening an hour before at 6:30pm. More information can be found at heart.co.uk and tickets can be purchased below.
