CT: Looking forward to getting started

4 July 2016

CONOR Thomas says that he is looking forward to “what’s ahead” after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract at the County Ground.

Speaking to STFC PlayerHD shortly after signing, the former Coventry City midfielder – who has been on trial at SN1 over the past few days - added that he can’t wait to get started and work with Head Coach, Luke Williams.

“I’m delighted to sign,” he said. “I’ve been training here for three days now and since I’ve been here they (players and management) have been great. The manager has been a breath of fresh air, I’m really looking forward to working with him and just getting started now. Everyone seems quite close, quite a tight-knit group. All the lads have been really good with me.”

After coming through the ranks at Coventry, Thomas has racked up over 100 senior appearances and hopes that, for a player of his age, his experience will stand him in good stead during his stay in Wiltshire.

“I’ve been through all the age groups (at Coventry),” he said. “I started at the age of seven – obviously, I’m from Coventry. I’m 22 now so been there all them years. It’s time to move on now. I’m just looking forward to what’s ahead.

“I’ve played quite a few games for Coventry and I’m still quite young so hopefully that will stand me in good stead. I’ve got quite a bit of experience for my age.”
