Fankaty Dabo is hoping to make the most of his first loan spell and is eager to impress everyone connected with Town.
The powerful right-back became the third and final player to sign for the Reds on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Chelsea yesterday, joining Charlie Colkett and Islam Feruz at The County Ground.
While his fellow Blues’ team-mates have already experienced going out on loan, this is Dabo’s first temporary stint away from Stamford Bridge and he’s looking forward to the opportunity.
“I’m very thrilled to be at Swindon,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.
“It is my first loan so I’m hoping to continue my development, get some experience and help to push the team up the table.
“I always talk to Charlie (Colkett) and Islam (Feruz) because they’ve got the experience of being out on loan and they’ve done things I haven’t done, so I’m always speaking to them to gain knowledge.
“I want to learn from everyone else.
“I’m very excited to be here and it is different because you are playing for three points and your livelihood so I’m excited.”
Fankaty then went on to outline what he feels are his biggest qualities and strengths as a defender.
“I’m a right-back and I would say my pace and power and my defensive qualities are my biggest strengths,” he added.
Dabo also had a special message for Town fans ahead of a potential debut away at Bolton Wanderers this weekend.
“To believe in us, believe in the team and get behind us as much as you can.”
