Dabo Looks Ahead To Millwall Clash

22 March 2017

Fankaty Dabo is pleased to be back in the thick of the action and is confident that Town’s fortunes on the pitch will change for the better this weekend.

Having missed a chunk of action due to a minor injury, the 21-year-old was back in the fold for the defeats to Sheffield United and Bradford City last week, equipping himself well in both games.

The Reds know they need to start picking up points in order to retain their League One status and Dabo is targeting a victory at home to Millwall on Saturday in order to kick-start a run of wins.

“It is always good to be on the pitch and trying to help the team. But at the moment it doesn’t really matter whether I’m on the pitch or not because the results aren’t good enough,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“Hopefully we can turn it around this weekend.

“All the results have been difficult to stomach because we haven’t been winning but hopefully we can turn it around.

“We need a lot of wins from the last seven games. If we’re at our best then I know we can beat anyone because of our style of play and the quality of players we have here.

“If we make sure that we don’t drop our levels, we focus on ourselves and we are aware of what they are going to do as well then I am sure we are going to pick up points.”

Millwall are in town this Saturday (1:30pm Kick-Off) and Dabo is expecting a very tough test against the promotion hopefuls.

“We expect a good side, we expect a confident side and we expect them to be physical as well,” he continued.

“We need to play our game because if we focus on them and try to play them at their game, then they are obviously going to be better at that than us.

“If we just continue to focus on ourselves and focus on being better than them then I am sure we can get the better of them.

“We will have The County Ground behind us and we showed how we can perform at home against Sheffield United, so if we can bring that level of performance to Saturday's game then I am sure we will pick up the three points.”
