Fankaty Dabo has declared that Town have to be ready to fight against Bury this afternoon.
Swindon are in Sky Bet League One action at Gigg Lane later (3pm Kick-Off) for what is a proverbial six-pointer and Dabo knows that his side will have to dig in and roll their sleeves up.
“We’re just working hard and trying to get the win. It is always positive and you can’t beat yourself up, you’ve just got to keep trying and keep doing what you can,” he said.
“It is coming and we know that we are going to get that win.
“I expect a tough game at Bury because they are in a similar predicament, so I know it is going to be tough and I know it is going to be a fight and we’ve got to roll up our sleeves and win that fight before we can play our game.
“We’re ready for it.
“Nobody wants relegation on their CV and nobody wants to go down – we want to keep the club up.”
Dabo also reflected on what went wrong against Oxford United last weekend and discussed notching his first-ever goal in professional football during that defeat.
“It was a good moment for me but at the end of the day we didn’t get the result we wanted so it didn’t really matter,” he added.
“It was a difficult game but it was more down to us and we just let ourselves down. We should have taken the bull by the horns but we stepped off the gas.”
