Delfouneso - We Owe The Fans A Good Performance

13 October 2016

Nathan Delfouneso is determined to help fire Town to three points at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and put a smile back on the faces of the Red Army.

The Robins will be backed by over 700 travelling fans at Kingsmeadow this weekend and, despite admitting that the League One newcomers will pose a very tough test, Delfouneso is confident that the trip to London will prove to be a fruitful one for Swindon.

“I have heard good things about them and I know they are very passionate down there and they are hardworking, so it is going to be a tough game for sure,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“It will be a good atmosphere. They have got a feel-good factor, they are doing well and they are in good form at the minute.

“We’ve got to make sure that we bring our top game and we need to be competing in all areas, we need to be strong and we need to match their work ethic because I know they work really hard.

“We need to be focused, concentrate on our game and make sure our game is on point, make sure we are solid offensively and defensively and we’re confident that we can get a positive result there.

“AFC Wimbledon have got a great understanding because they’ve come up together and most of the squad is similar to what it was last year, so they know each other inside out and they will know where each other is going to be.

“It is going to be a difficult game as it is in every game in the league but we’ve just got to be positive, we need to make sure we approach the game in the right frame of mind and we are looking to go and get three points.

“Hopefully we can come out with a positive result for the fans because we do owe the fans a very good performance.

“We are nearly there, we are getting close and hopefully we can send them home happy on Saturday.”
