Embleton - We Know How Important Shrews Clash Is

5 January 2017

Town First-Team Coach Ross Embleton is well aware of the importance of this weekend’s game against Shrewsbury Town and is confident that his side can take the spoils.

The Reds host their fellow strugglers at SN1 on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off) and a win against the Shrews would start to put a gap between them and the bottom four.

“It is no secret that it is an important game for both teams and it is one where we want to put on a good performance but, at the same time, we know how important trying to get three points is to everybody with the situation we’re in,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“Sometimes the fact we’ve not lost at home in the league for a while can be forgotten about when you’re going through a poor run of form and we need to make sure we turn it around away from home as well.

“We’ve got to make sure we’re difficult to play against and try and turn one or two of those draws into wins and the sooner we can do that the sooner we’ll be in a stronger position in the league.

“Shrewsbury are a good side but we’ve got to focus on what we do and how the best way is for us to take the game to them, be aggressive and try and get all three points.

“All we can do is worry about ourselves.

“We’ve had a good week to get to work and work tactically on how to take the game to the opposition and the fact that we’ve got players coming back from injury is a real positive.

“We’ve got to make sure we really highlight what we feel is our biggest threat in terms of winning the game and making sure that we’re aggressive and we take the game to them.”
