England Calling For Henry

4 January 2017

Young stopper Will Henry has been summoned by the Three Lions for a second time this season with his star continuing to rise and rise in the footballing world.

January 2017.thThe 18-year-old attended an England Goalkeepers camp in December 2016 and, having impressed the coaches, will return to St George’s Park for two days on Wednesday 11

It caps off what has been a stunning twelve months or so for Henry and he can’t wait to link back up with his country for a second time.

“I’m very excited to go back. I obviously set a first good first impression to get called back again and I’m really looking forward to going back there again,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“It will probably be a lot easier this time going there knowing exactly what I’ll be doing and I’ll know a few of the other goalkeepers from last time.

“I’m taking each step as it comes and being called up to do the Goalkeepers Camp again is another step forward.

“I’ve got to make sure I go there and keep impressing in order to get a call-up to the England U19’s squad.

“And it will be good to go back to St George’s Park because they’ve got absolutely everything there.”

Henry has also reflected on the first-half of the 2016/17 campaign on a personal level and wants to ensure he keeps his foot on the gas throughout 2017.

“I think I’ve played really well in the games that I’ve been picked for this season and I feel that I’ve got the trust of the coaching staff to play me if Lawrence Vigouroux is absent for whatever reason,” he added.

“2016 was just a positive year for me and I want to carry that on into 2017.”
