Fit Again Stewart Wants To Play His Part In Second-Half Of Season

3 January 2017

Jordan Stewart has set his sights on helping Town climb the table in the second-half of the 2016/17 campaign after returning from injury.

The young attacker was back in the matchday squad for the 0-0 draw with Southend United on Monday and, although he was an unused substitute, he was just happy to be back in the thick of it and is now determined to stay fit for the rest of the season.

“I didn’t really expect to be back so quickly but everything went to plan and hopefully now I’m back fit I can stay fit now,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“It has been a bit stop-start for a while because I tried to play on with an injury but hopefully I’m sorted now and that’s me back for good.

“I didn’t get off the bench against Southend but it beats being in the stands and it is one step closer to where I want to be which is out on the pitch.

“Fingers crossed I can keep fit and well in the coming weeks and keep making the squad and then hopefully when the opportunity comes I’ll be able to take it.

“If I get the chance I’ll be more than happy to help the team and I want to try and help the team and help us climb the table.

“We’ve had a few bad results in the last few months and things haven’t been going well but hopefully we can really kick on in the second-half of the season.

“Every point counts at this stage of the season so it was a positive result on Monday and it is definitely something to build on."
