With the Sky Sports cameras in attendance, Gwion Edwards’ header handed the home side a slender lead heading in at the break.
But Town hauled themselves level shortly after the interval courtesy of Michael Doughty’s penalty, before Marcus Maddison converted from the spot to restore Peterborough’s lead.
However, the Robins hit back emphatically and secured a share of the spoils thanks to Jack Baldwin’s own goal deep into the second-half.
