INJURY UPDATE: Thompson To Be Assessed Ahead Of Bolton Trip

13 January 2017

Town Head Coach Luke Williams has provided an injury update on four of his players ahead of tomorrow’s Sky Bet League One encounter away at Bolton Wanderers (3pm Kick-Off).

Yaser Kasim is fit and available for the trip to the Macron Stadium having come through a cameo against Shrewsbury Town last weekend unscathed, although there are still doubts over Nathan Thompson.

“Yaser came through training no problem this week and with him getting on the pitch and getting some minutes into his legs last week then it would seem he is ready now,” Williams said.

“It is difficult with Nathan because it is taking longer than we anticipated and it is quite frustrating for him, but there is still a training session today that he could potentially come through fine and then we’ve got a decision to make.

“With Nathan fit there are more options and we need to think what team will be strongest on the day.”

However, both Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill and Ellis Iandolo are still on the road to recovery and will not be available for tomorrow’s game against the Trotters, while James Brophy is suspended after picking up two bookings in his last outing.

“Brandon is still not able to come through training. He’s working very hard physically but he can’t do the full session and the contact at the moment,” Williams added.

“James Brophy is obviously ruled out.

“Ellis is not at training at the moment and it is a tough time for any player, but it is difficult for the younger boys because the first few injuries are hard to get their head around.

“They feel fine but there is something there stopping them and Ellis just needs to continue his rehabilitation and get through that.”
