INJURY UPDATE: Town Have No Fresh Concerns Ahead Of MK Test

6 April 2017

Town have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their vital showdown with MK Dons on Saturday, Head Coach Luke Williams has revealed.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference earlier today, Williams provided updates on Yaser Kasim and Jordan Stewart while disclosing that everyone else is fighting fit for the weekend.

“Yaser’s injury is ongoing and we think Jordan Stewart’s knock appeared worse than what it was,” he said.

“We think he’ll be fine.

“Other than that, everybody else appears to be fit and well.”

Meanwhile, Williams is also confident that Nathan Thompson and Ben Gladwin can continue to manage their niggling injuries until the end of the season.

“Nathan is probably more of a concern with his injury but, at the same time, he’s mentally so strong that it is hard to know how much that really is hurting him until he can’t walk properly,” he added.

“We’ve tried to thoroughly work out what the problem is and how much at risk he is by playing on it.

“There are far less problems with this injury and it is far less likely for him to do any damage, it is more about it being uncomfortable and if it is so uncomfortable that you can’t perform, then of course it is a problem.

“We’ve taken some decisions out of Nathan’s hands and not allowed him to be on the pitch as many days as he would like to - he wants to train in every single session.

“But between us and Nathan with his own experience, we should be able to manage it until the end of the season.

“There is something in Ben’s knee that isn’t going to stop him from playing football week in and week out, it is going to be something that might need to be addressed in the summer.

“At this moment Ben is fine and we hope he stays that way until the end of the season.”
