LW: The longer the game went on the more powerful we looked

6 August 2016

LUKE Williams spoke to the media after Town's 1-0 win over Coventry City.

On the positives from the performance...
To keep a clean sheet, for sure. I think we were fortunate at times to keep a clean sheet but that’s why we brought Lawrence (Vigouroux) here to get us out of trouble. To have so much of the ball - the players looked fit, the longer the game went on the more powerful we looked. It was very pleasing and to finish it off with a goal was fantastic. There are plenty of things to improve. We need to be a little bit more clinical - we made some very good opportunities which should be converted so we need to work on that.

On Yaser Kasim...
It's fantastic to have a player of that quality and calmess, to hit the back of the net. We’re delighted he’s here.

On the conditions...
It’s a very warm day. It’s a big pitch, we moved the ball a lot - there's a lot of ground to cover. Coventry were very good. They kept a very compact five players across the middle and made it difficult but the longer the game went on suddenly there were openings for us and ultimately, it paid off.

On Conor Thomas's performance in the back three...
We’ve seen him play there as a young player. He's filled in there for us today and I thought he was fantastic. He didn’t look like someone playing out of position so that’s great to have players in a small squad that can play in different positions.
