PACK THE COUNTY GROUND: Ajose Wants A Full CG On Saturday

4 April 2017

Swindon Town have launched the #PackTheCG campaign for Saturday’s crunch clash against MK Dons and we will have exclusive interviews with a number of players throughout this week.

Tonight, Nicky Ajose throws his support behind the campaign and stresses the importance of the team having the ‘Twelfth Man’ behind them against MK.

“The away fans have been particularly good this season and we’ve had a few good results on the road,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“It would be nice to see The County Ground as full as possible and we’ve not really seen that for a long time.

“It is a big game and probably as big a game as we’ve had in recent times, so if we can get as many people to The County Ground on Saturday as possible then it would be brilliant.

“When you score and you get to celebrate with the fans and you are able to have the rapport with them afterwards, then it is brilliant.

“It has been a bit more hit and miss at home but there are only five games left now, three at home so it would be nice to see as many fans as possible at The County Ground this weekend.

“It is a massive game for us and we’ve got ourselves in the position now where we have got a real fighting chance, so if we could get the win on Saturday then that will leave us in good stead for the remaining four games of the season.”

MK Dons have now mathematically secured their place in the Sky Bet League One for the 2017/18 season but Ajose isn’t expecting them to let Town have it easy this weekend.

“I don’t read too much into the what teams have got to play for business because we were in that position last year,” he added.

“We were safe but we battered Shrewsbury at home when we had nothing to play for.

“MK are a good side, they’ve got good players and they’ve underachieved this year. They’ve got a relatively new manager and they’ll be playing for contracts for next season, so we know what we’ve got to do.

“We’re in a good place now and if we can replicate the second-half performances from the last two games then we’ll have a very good chance.”
