Town midfielder Conor Thomas is fully expecting a reaction from Peterborough United on Saturday at SN1 (3pm Kick-Off), but is focused on helping his side continue their good start to 2017.
Last week was one to forget for The Posh who were thumped 5-1 away at Bury and they will be looking to bounce back tomorrow, although Town will be full of confidence following their impressive 2-1 win away at Bolton Wanderers last weekend.
And Thomas now wants to help the Reds kick-on and put together a run of positive results as they look to climb the table.
“We’ve shown that we tend to do better against teams who come and play so it is a game to look forward to,” he said.
“They will be looking to bounce back from their result last weekend so we know it is going to be a tough game and we are going to have to be up for it.
“They will be looking for a reaction so we will have to be aware of that but, at the same time, we’ve just had a good result ourselves so we just have to carry that on.
“It is amazing what one win can do for you really and it is up to us now to get that momentum going and we’ll take each game as it comes and we’ll see what happens.”
Thomas was thrown into an unfamiliar right-back position against Bolton Wanderers last weekend and he was pleased with his own personal performance, but opted to heap praise on the collective unit for the way they bounced back from going a goal down to secure what was a huge three points.
“It was a different experience but when you win 2-1 under the circumstances then everyone on the coach went home happy, so I was delighted,” he added.
“I had Thursday morning to prepare and that was the first time I ever played right-back, so I was learning on the job really.
“I just had to take it in my stride and I was quite pleased with how it went.
“We’ve crumbled when we have gone 1-0 down before but when we went 1-0 down at Bolton we stood strong and to come away with the win was really pleasing as a group.
“To get that first win from coming from behind was important.
“Everyone is on a high at the moment so hopefully we can carry that on now.
“Credit to the fans who travelled last week because Bolton is a long way away and we’re so glad we got the win for them.
“It was a great feeling getting the goal by the away end and we have to follow that up and give the home fans something to cheer about now.”
