Twine Wants More After Town Debut

2 May 2017

Scott Twine was on cloud nine after making his Swindon Town debut on Sunday and he’s now looking to kick on next season.

The young striker came off the bench late on during the 3-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic and it was a moment that he won’t forget any time soon.

“It wasn’t the best result but it was good getting my debut and I enjoyed making it at a good stadium,” Twine said.

“I found out on Friday that I was in the squad and I’d been looking forward to it since then - it was nice to make my debut and I’m happy it has come now.

“It felt a bit surreal and I just wanted to enjoy it and go out and do my best.

“I was trying to score a goal or help the team to score a goal, but I enjoyed it and it was a learning curve.

“Hopefully there is more to come.”

And Twine is now looking to work as hard as he can throughout the summer in a bid to hit the ground running in pre-season as he prepares to embark on his first campaign as a professional footballer.

“I’m just going to work hard in the off-season, set a programme, I’m going to try my best and I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing,” he added.

“We obviously want to go straight back up next season and we’ve got the team to do that.

“I’m looking forward to getting started now.”
