VIDEO: Vigouroux On Red Card Appeal, Oxford Defeat And Bury

10 February 2017

Lawrence Vigouroux was relieved to see his red card overturned earlier this week and is now determined to help Town put things right against Bury on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off).

The in-form stopper was shown a straight red card during the 2-1 defeat to Oxford United last Sunday for an alleged foul on Kane Hemmings, although video footage clearly showed that no contact had been made between the two players.

And, having now been cleared to feature tomorrow, Vigouroux wants to play his part as Town look to secure what would be a huge three points.

“It was tough to lose against Oxford but we’ve had to go back to the drawing board and we’ve had a good week of training,” he told Town’s Official YouTube Channel.

“Now we have to go to Bury and give everything we can and hopefully we can get a win up there.

“It will be a tough game, they are in a similar predicament to ourselves, but hopefully we can go there and get the three points.

“I made the wrong decision on Sunday and I thought the ball was going to travel long towards the area, so I’ve come out to try and clear it and obviously Nathan (Thompson) has gone in there with one of their players and I didn’t touch their guy.

“I didn’t say anything to the referee because I didn’t want to try and make it worse or get angry and lose my head, so I just walked off and didn’t make a scene about it.

“That helped with the appeal because if I got angry and started moaning and saying things to the referee then they would have had a case against me, so I respected the decision and I’ve just got to learn from it.

“Hopefully I can put it right on Saturday, hopefully the team put it right and we can get the three points.”
