Vigouroux Looking To Build On MK Result

11 April 2017

Lawrence Vigouroux was satisfied with a point from Saturday’s clash against MK Dons and he was pleased to have played his part in stretching Town's unbeaten run to three straight games.

Jon Obika’s late goal secured The Reds a valuable share of the spoils and Vigouroux played his part right at the very death after doing enough to put Ed Upson off in-front of goal.

“He’s come through one-on-one in the last minute and I’ve come out while he’s looking down to shut the angle down and by the time he’s looked up to see what he’s going to hit, I’ve put him off a little bit and he’s put it wide,” Vigouroux said.

“In the context of the game, I think the least we deserved was a point and we’ve got to go again on Friday because it’s another huge one.

“The first-half was a little bit cagey but no one’s heads were down at half-time and we came out in the second-half and we had more width.

“MK were just trying to clear the ball towards the end and we dominated, so a point is a fair result but we did feel aggrieved not to get all three.

“I hope we can push on because Friday’s game is huge and we can’t look past it.

“We’ve got a great bunch of lads in the dressing room and if we keep going then we can make these last four games enjoyable.”

Lawrence was also full of praise for the Town faithful who put on a brilliant and vocal display on Saturday.

“They were very good and they were with us for the whole game,” he continued.

“They gave us added support and that lifted us towards the end. They stuck by us and I hope we can see The County Ground packed for the last two games here.

“It was so loud at the end that I didn’t even hear how many minutes were added, so they were brilliant.

“I would like to thank them because they gave us the added impetus to go and try and get a winner and I just hope that they come back on Friday in their droves and we can get a win.”
