Williams - The Boys Are Buzzing And Ready For Rovers

27 January 2017

Town Head Coach Luke Williams is confident that his side will rise to the occasion this weekend and secure what would be a huge three points.

Swindon will contest the first of two Derby Day clashes in as many weeks when they take on Bristol Rovers at The Memorial Stadium tomorrow (12:30pm Kick-Off).

And, with a bumper crowd expected, Williams knows his charges will be fully pumped up and ready to do battle with Rovers.

“We won’t need much of a pep talk before this one and the motivation is all there,” he said.

“There will be a good crowd and they will make a lot of noise so everyone will be buzzing for this.

“We were fantastic in the original fixture before it was postponed and it is always going to be difficult when you’ve had that dress rehearsal.

“Then, of course, we were 1-0 up in the re-arranged game and fluffed our lines as we have too often this season and we ended up getting beat.

“Bristol Rovers have got goals in the team and they are very organised. Darrell Clarke has done a fantastic job there and they will have a game plan that they would have worked on all week.

“Our team has changed a fair bit since we last played them but they will be aware of all the new players and they will know about Charlie Colkett already.

“They will be very organised on the day and we have to try and combat that.

“We’ll give as good as we get and the boys will certainly be up for this game.

“Both teams will be playing for all the points and we certainly need to get three points wherever we can.

“Bristol Rovers are an ambitious group and they are trying to climb the table and add to that the fact that the local bragging rights are at stake, then it is going to be ferocious and I expect both teams to go for each other."

Town will have over 1,000 fans backing them in Bristol this weekend and Williams knows their support will be crucial for his team.

“There will be fantastic away support there this weekend, as always, and the players are conscious of that and it really does drive them forward,” he concluded.
