Bell - I Enjoyed My Debut

29 September 2014

LOAN signing Amari’i Bell says that he enjoyed making his Town debut in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Barnsley.

Having joined on Friday, the defender went straight into the starting XI at Oakwell and, after the match, he told the assembled media that he and his new teammates were pleased with the clean sheet.

“I really enjoyed it,” he said. “It was a good game to come into. It was a bit difficult (to get into the game) but you have to stay mentally strong and concentrate. You can’t afford to switch off in these games. I thought I could have got into the game a bit more but hopefully I can do that in next couple of games.

“We’re really pleased with that (clean sheet.) It’s always good to keep a clean sheet. The lads are buzzing with it.”

With his first 90 minutes in a Town shirt under his belt, the 20-year-old revealed that he was an admirer of Swindon’s style of play.

“I like the way they pass the ball and they like to play,” he said. “It’s a good team to come into - they never stop working hard for the whole game.”
