FOLLOWING a meeting yesterday with the Group Editor of the Swindon Advertiser, Gary Lawrence, Swindon Town have lifted the ban on the Swindon Advertiser with immediate effect.
At the meeting, both sides had a free and frank exchange and the Club reiterated that its actions were as a result of a number of incidents - of which Sam Morshead's tweet was the latest incident.
We would like to thank all supporters for their support and perseverance during this time. We were pleased to see that this was reflected in the results of the Advertiser's own-initiated online poll, where 55% of readers agreed with the Chairman's actions to suspend the Advertiser.
We recognise the importance of the Advertiser as a local source of Club news and as a supporter of the Club. We have also taken the opportunity to increase coverage on our own website and have encouraged interaction with other sources of media to ensure that fans are provided with as much news about the Club as possible.
