On pre-season progress...
We’ve slowly but surely improved along the way. In patches today, we showed what we can do with a strong Liverpool team. The longer it's gone the better we've got. We've had to change a lot of things. It's more or less a new team, a different system and it's taken a lot of work but the last couple of games we’ve done really well. As a unit we've looked a good team. The ball retention was good. We scored a really good goal to level it up so I'm pleased.

On trialists...
With the way our club is, we have to look at every option. People flag these players up but at the moment we’re just having a look. We’ve got a small squad but we want to try and fill that squad with as much quality as we can.

On injuries...
(Drissa Traore's withdrawal was) Just precautionary. It's just a tight hamstring. (Michael Smith) has got a dead leg. He's naturally a fit lad so we’re not concerned.
