Cox: It meant a lot

21 April 2014

LEE Cox says his match-winning goal against Bradford meant a lot to him after a spell on the sidelines.

"I saw a couple of the lads warming up (before the goal) but I managed to get in the box and get the goal," he told the media post-match. "It meant a lot - I've kept my head down and kept plugging away, staying strong mentally and when I've got the chance I feel I've done well.

"We controlled the game from start to finish. They put a lot of men behind the ball but we kept patient. We've got to do it with care and precision. In the first half we were in and around the box and we could have been a bit better but we kept going and kept plugging away and managed to wear them down. We made sure we were nice and tight off the ball as well."

Finally, the midfielder declared that Town were determined to make the race for the final Play-Off place go right to the wire.

"The season isn't finished yet," he continued. "We've got a chance of Play-Offs so we'll be working hard in training and try and get the win next week."
