WE saw our next stage leave the town of Aoesta in Italy on the 'Fastest Classroom' project, writes Jeremy Newton.

The challenge began with a huge Category 1 hill climb - 26 kilometres all the way. We knew that this would be the biggest challenge so far, the roads would just go up and around and continue for ages.

Once we had reached the top, photos were taken and there was a huge show of appreciation for the efforts of everyone that had completed the task. Then, it was 27 kilometres down. With support vehicles at the front and at the rear, we had to be careful on the way down: with no barriers on the right-hand side, caution had to be the number one priority as well as concentration.

Tomorrow we will on the longest stage with a massive 100 kilometres due to be covered. This will be very tough but the group are working very hard and looking forward to the challenge ahead.
