Ling Looks Ahead To Fleetwood

20 November 2015

MARTIN Ling says that the Beversbrook training base has been a nice place to be this week after Town claimed all three points against Scunthorpe last weekend.

Speaking to the official website, the Town boss admits that, ahead of tomorrow's clash with Fleetwood, he has a difficult decision to make with only five of his six available loanees eligible for the matchday squad.

"It's been like any training ground after a win," he said. "The atmosphere is good, the lads have been buzzing around and it's been a nice place to be this week.

"The be-all and end-all is the six (loanees) would be in the squad and, if I'm honest, all six could be in the team but that isn’t an option so I've got to make a decision on who to leave out. It will be very harsh on the player because it's nothing to do with ability and they're the hardest ones to do."

Before looking ahead to Saturday's fixture at Highbury, Ling gave an update on the squad of players available to him.

"We have a little bit of an issue with Drissa Traore," he said. "He pulled out with a sore groin in training on Thursday - we’ll know a little bit more about him today but with Nath (Thompson) out and the two Liverpool boys out that’s where we stand at the moment. Louis Thompson is back, Yaser Kasim is back and Jordan Stewart is back as well. They have all come back fit and ready to go.

"It's our longest trip. The geography isn’t the greatest for us but we have to deal with that. It’s a very northern league this year so we've done things differently. We go in the morning on a Friday so hopefully there is less traffic, we trained up in Preston then off to the hotel to prepare for the game tomorrow. When you're on the road for four hours you just hope it is four hours and not six or seven which puts you out of kilter. I hope we have a smooth journey so we can plan and prepare properly."
