Speaking to swindontownfc.co.uk shortly after taking a first glance at the fixture calendar, Town’s Head Coach declared he was looking forward to the two derby fixtures with Bristol Rovers and Oxford United and hoped that the usually busy festive period would be less hectic for Swindon than it was last season.
“Coventry will be a good side,” he said. “I imagine they’ll be strong and they’re normally a team that play a lot with the ball so it should be a good game.
“Millwall (on Boxing Day) is not too far so I don’t think it will make too much of a difference to the schedule being at Millwall then the second game on 31st (at MK Dons) gives us more time to recover. We played Gillingham at home on Boxing Day (last season) then Burton away two days later and they hadn’t had a game on Boxing Day so we’d only had 48 hours of recovery. Hopefully we won’t have that problem again.
“Everyone’s looking forward to those two games (against Oxford and Bristol Rovers) in particular.”
He added: “I’m very excited and I'm sure all the players are as well. We’ve all had a rest mentally more than anything so we’re ready to go again.”
