Reeves Pleased To Get Off The Mark

29 September 2014

JAKE Reeves was delighted to get off the mark and open his goalscoring account for Swindon against Barnsley.

The midfielder stepped off the bench to notch Town’s second of the afternoon and says that he was happy to contribute to a three-point haul away from home.

“(It’s) very pleasing,” he said. “I nearly scored in the JPT the other night and was devastated that didn’t go in. I was happy to come in (today) and contribute to game.”

“(It was important to) get the second goal and kill the other team off. We kicked on and got the third. He (Nathan Byrne) was brilliant all game. I knew if I could get in the box, ‘Byrney’ could pick me out.”

Having made his first start in a red shirt at Newport last Tuesday, Reeves declared that he was pleased to have racked up his first 90 minutes for Town.

“That was my first competitive 90 minutes,” he said. “It was good to get some cobwebs out of the way.”
