LUKE Rooney returned to first team training on Thursday morning as preparations continued for the visit of Preston North End this weekend.
The 22-year old winger’s last appearance for the Robins came at Deepdale in September before he departed for a loan spell at League Two Rotherham United at the end of that month.
Rooney signed for Town just over a year ago from Gillingham and was a regular a total of 40 appearances last term after making the switch. He helped Town to the League Two title but has made just four appearances for Swindon this season.
He is now back in first team training and is available for selection against Preston North End this weekend.
