Smith: Such a good feeling

19 April 2014

MICHAEL Smith admitted that the feeling of scoring a last-minute winning goal was a new experience for him, after he netted deep into injury time to earn Swindon a dramatic 2-1 win at Coventry.

Speaking to the media post-match, the front-man says that he has to keep working hard and giving his all.

"We left it late," he said. "It was such a good feeling to get the goal at the end. I've never scored a winning goal like that before.

"In the first half we dominated. We saw so much of the ball. In the second half, it got a bit more even but we got the win in the end.

"I took a bit of stick over the penalty but luckily this one came on my head so I'm pleased. I've just got to keep working hard. I'm staying behind after training and working hard. I've got to keep playing my football and giving it my all."

The frontman closed by saying that Town were not going to get carried away as the season draws to its conclusion: "We've got to keep doing what we're doing and focus on us."
