STFC Staff fundraise for Prospect Hospice

4 April 2016

A group of past and present employees at Swindon Town Football Club are taking part in an event to raise money for the Prospect Hospice, a local charity.

The group will be running the 5k Rough Runner in April in a bid to raise funds for Prospect, a charity that has particularly touched the club and its staff in recent months. Town kit man, Mark Hampson has oesophageal cancer and is being cared for at the hospice in Wroughton.

The Prospect Hospice undertake such fantastic work on a daily basis and have touched the hearts of a lot of families in Swindon and the surrounding areas. A family who have truly received the benefits of their care is Mark’s.

Callum Hampson, the club’s Social Media Manager, explained on behalf of his family why everyone was so keen to get involved: “I can't quite put into words our appreciation to the Prospect,” he said. “Because of them we have made life-changing memories over the last few months, memories we may not have been able to make without the fantastic care and support dad has received from the Hospice. This is why we want to raise as much as possible, to help them do this for other families who are struggling just as we are. If you can contribute, any donations big or small would be massively appreciated.”
