Turnbull Anticipating 'Calmer' Blades Clash

27 August 2015

JORDAN Turnbull is anticipating a much calmer game than the last time Sheffield United were at the County Ground in the second leg of the Play-Off semi-final back in May.

The defender played in the thrilling 5-5 draw at SN1 that sealed Town's place at Wembley and says that the side will be ready to face the Blades on Saturday.

"That (the Play-Off semi-final) was a bit hectic," he recalled. "I'm sure it will be much more calm. We’ll look to be a lot more solid - we've had a week to work on it and we’ll be ready.

"They (Sheffield United) are always going to be a threat in the league. They're a massive club and they've brought in some new faces but we're just concentrating on ourselves and working on our own game. We’re confident that we can get the win."

Last weekend's victory at Southend was Swindon's first three points on the road this term and the on-loan Southampton man admits that Town have enjoyed a fantastic start to the new campaign.

He explained: "A few people doubted us this season with a lot of new faces coming in and a lot of people from last year leaving but I think it's been a fantastic start. It was a great win away from home last weekend so we’ll look to continue that.

"It shows that the team spirit's there and we all work for each other. We’ve gone to a difficult place and we know the performance wasn’t right - the performance can be a lot better - but we showed we’ve got that side to our game. We know we can grind out a result from nothing, really. We're pleased with that and, hopefully, we can work towards Saturday and get the win against Sheffield United."
