Turnbull: Keep putting points on the table

18 March 2016

JORDAN Turnbull is targeting an extension to Town's recent unbeaten run, starting with Saturday's trip to Coventry City.

Speaking before the weekend, the on-loan Southampton man also highlighted the importance of securing three points in front of a near 2,500-strong travelling support at the Ricoh.

"That’s six games unbeaten now," he said. "It was important to get that late equaliser (against Millwall) and keep putting points on the table. A lot of teams (this season) are fighting for 5th and 6th place and we’ve defeinitely got a chance of being in there if we can continue this run - that’s certainly what we’re looking to do. We don’t want to just stop at 52 points, we want to continue winning games.

"There's great support for us going to Coventry and it's going to be important for us to put on a good show. The most important thing is the three points and making sure we’re travelling home with the three points."

Saturday could also see the defender line up opposite Saints teammate, Jack Stephens - a former loanee at the County Ground who is currently on loan with the Sky Blues.

"It's going to be strange," he smiled. "Playing alongside him for so many years in the youth and development sides at Southampton then we both came here last season together. It's going to be strange but I'm looking forward to it and I'm sure he is too."
