Williams on Bradford

8 April 2016

LUKE Williams believes the experience of playing at Valley Parade on Saturday will stand his players in good stead in years to come.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s trip to face Bradford City, Town’s head coach added that he was confident his team could deal with the conditions in Yorkshire at the weekend.

“It’s great preparation for some of the boys that haven’t been in that environment before,” he said. “You need to experience it sooner rather than later and the sooner you can be in that environment and cope in it in your career the better.

“I don’t think our opponents will be too bothered about the surface - similar to the Oldham game but I thought we still managed to control the game enough to create some chances. Ok, we didn’t take them but we feel we can go to Bradford and still be able to play a style of football that suits us and gives us a better chance of scoring goals. We’ll go there and deal with the conditions.”

Finally, Williams declared that there were no fresh injury concerns for his squad going into Saturday's clash.

“No we don’t think we’re going to be able to get anybody else back involved in this game that wasn’t involved at Oldham,” he said. “There are no added injuries at this point.”
