Williams: We Have To Go There Expecting A Tough Game

12 February 2016

LUKE Williams is expecting a battling performance from Colchester United when Town face the Essex side on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to STFC PlayerHD, the manager believes that the visitors can anticipate as tough a test as the one they encountered at Gillingham last weekend.

“I’m sure it will be difficult,” he said of the clash against the U’s tomorrow afternoon. “We were second bottom at one point this season, we were fighting for our lives and we went on a run of winning games because of that pressure of being at the bottom. The players didn’t like it and didn’t want to be there so they dug deep and got the performances and got the points on the board and Colchester will be thinking the same.

“We have to go there expecting a tough game – as tough as the Gillingham game.”

The manager also provided an update on the squad expected to travel to Colchester.

“Yaser (Kasim) - we’re still looking at what stage of the healing process and whether or not it’s too risky for him to be involved,” he revealed. “Louis Thompson trained very well today and we hope that he’s ready to be back on the pitch tomorrow. Drissa (Traore) is back in full training and trained very, very well today.”
