Unfortunately it was a case of two more points dropped for us on Saturday, which was gutting all round because, as with the Southend match we had the chances to put the game beyond Charlton but we couldn't take them.

When you're 1-0 up with five minutes to go you expect to see it out, so it is really frustrating and disappointing that we haven't been able to,

It's become a bit of a theme of the last two weeks, as we've dominated games and should have won them, but have come unstuck in the last few minutes and it is something we need to work on.

But it is hard to pinpoint what's going wrong. It is really frustrating because the boys played really well on Saturday and I don't really know what it's down to really.

I think it's the seventh time it's happened to us now this season, and if we don't sort it out then it could prove costly, but at the same time we've been playing really well which is obviously a good thing, and we deserved the three points on Saturday so we just have to take the positives.

The corner we scored from had been worked on in training, and to be honest it had never worked that well before! It was just a shame we couldn't get another one because that probably would have won it for us.

I thought we played well for most of the match, and most importantly I think the fact that we're really disappointed with a point against Charlton is testament to how far we've come as a team, so it's vital no one gets too down about it.

Greer stays positive after Charlton disappointment

The fixtures are coming thick and fast now with Oldham Athletic the visitors to The County Ground tomorrow night.

In the last game against Oldham we didn't play that well, and lost another crazy late goal. It was a deflected cross which just looped over Dave's head, but to be fair Oldham probably deserved to beat us.

We can play a lot better than we did on that day, and we've come a long way from that game as it was quite early on in the season, and I'm confident we can put on a good performance tomorrow night.

There are no games you can just expect to win, and even though Oldham are struggling we still have to go out and apply ourselves properly to give ourselves a really good chance.

From a personal point of view, I was struggling with a bit of abductor tightness after the Southend game, but that eased off because we had a free week, and now it's just a bit of a sore head I've got to worry about!

As I've mentioned, everyone was disappointed with the four points we've lost over the last two weekends, but in general we're excited about what we can achieve this year, and everyone's raring to go for Oldham tomorrow night.

So hopefully with a good win from the game we can forget about the disappointing late goals and keep kicking on up the table.

See you there,

Gordon Greer
