Every Monday, Town Captain Gordon Greer talks exclusively to www.swindontownfc.co.uk, giving his views on the weekend's performance and looking forward to the upcoming week at The County Ground........

It was a disappointing performance and a terrible result for us on Saturday against Bristol Rovers.

To lose 4-0 against them having lost 3-0 last time was frustrating and really hard to take, but we've got a big game Tuesday and we've got to try and pick ourselves up for it.

We started well: Alan Sheehan hit the post and then Charlie had that shot cleared off the line with a brilliant block but it went downhill after that really and we just didn't defend well.

Myself and Scotty Cuthbert got caught out for a couple of their goals and we know that if we defend like that as a team then we're not going to win matches.

I don't think it particularly down to concentration, it was just that they got into difficult positions and finished pretty well but we know we can defend better than that.

On the plus side, that was the first time we've been beaten 14 games, and it's only the fifth time we've lost all season so all in all it's not bad going, and we've got a tough run in now so we've got to pick ourselves up and try to get as many points as possible.

In every walk of life you have off days and we've done so well this year that we haven't had many, but it is still up to us now to bounce back from it.

And we've got the perfect opportunity to do that now with the game against MK Dons tomorrow night.

The last time we played at MK Dons we beat them 4-1, and that was just after having lost 5-0 to Gillingham on the opening day, so hopefully we can have a similar reaction to a bad defeat again tomorrow night.

We played some great football on that night and went 1-0 up through a wonderful goal from J-P McGovern, and even though they equalised pretty soon after we played really well and beat them comfortably in the end which was great.

But as I've said before this is a tough league and you're not going to get any easy games, which we saw when they came here a few days later and got a 0-0 draw against us.

They know all about us now but we're still doing well in the league and they're pushing for the play-offs and will be wanting the in to stay in touch so it's going to be a tough game - as they always are.

It's a nice new stadium there and a nice enough pitch too which is all you can ask for as a player so hopefully we can take advantage of that.

The spirit among the lads is fine despite the defeat at the weekend, because we're playing well and still well in contention for promotion so it's just up to us to go out tomorrow night and make amends for the defeat against Bristol Rovers.

See you at the game,

Gordon Greer
