Ouch what a week that was….seven days ago we were looking forward to a home derby and possible revenge against the Gas, and then a follow up trip to MK Dons, seven days on….a pointless couple of games, a local derby drubbing, and a Milton Keynes mishap.

It was a very strange game against Rovers wasn't it…? We battered them for 25 minutes, hit a post, had one cleared off the line, looked like we'd hit a hatful, and then…..

.....well the rest is history. Then three days later, I was sitting in a studio in Plymouth working, and watching the scores come in on the wires….scoreflash 1 MK DONS 1 SWINDON 0…etc. It's really difficult doing that because your'e not at the game and spend most of the evening wishing for a positive score to come up. Sadly it wasn't to be and that brought a few comments from late night listeners - luckily Argyle lost the same night..so they couldn't say too much.

So what of this weekend..? Well it's a five hour journey for me to Brighton along the coast road, and an afternoon at the Withdean. It's a ground which was quite interesting to go to first time round, but several visits later…including one wet miserable play off night, and the attraction wears off.

Last term a win there, my how we could do with another against Gus Poyet's men.

As for where we are now..? At the start of the season, I said top ten would be a great year after last term's flirtation with relegation. However, the team has played so well, that our expectations have been raised.

A win on Saturday would help lift everything, just like it did last season…and of course we have a new signing from Liverpool. It appears that we're to forge stronger links with the Merseyside club, and that's got to be good news…several of Liverpool's players coming to the County Ground, is bound to have a positive impact.

So here's to the Withdean and three points….I tell you what, let's not moan, we're having a great season, and even though you might be watching from one of the worst away ends in the country, keep cheering, because the sound will reach the pitch eventually.

Until next week!
