Town Assistant Manager Peter Shirtliff keeps you updated on the week's events at The County Ground in 'Get Shirty', available right here at Swindontownfc.co.uk every Friday morning.
I think it's fair to say the match against Brighton wasn't the prettiest, but we were delighted to come away with a great result.
But it came at a bit of a price for us, because we picked up three injuries, which I think were probably caused by the heavy pitches both at our training ground last week, and at the Brighton ground on Saturday.
Obviously it's disappointing to lose players, but the rest of us who are fit just have to get on with it which I think everyone will do.
Phil Smith did really well on Saturday, as he has done whenever he's stepped in, so we as a defence have no worries about having him behind us rather than big Dave Lucas, if that is the case at Southampton.

Obviously we had a lot of changes made on Saturday, and there probably will be tomorrow night what with all the injuries we've picked up, but it doesn't change a massive amount for us because we know there are quality players throughout this squad.
Everyone wishes each other the best before every game, and we saw on Saturday the strength in depth we've got so I have no worries when subs come on.
I was really pleased to see Mark Marshall come on and do really well as he did on Saturday because he hasn't had a huge amount of games, and he slotted in nicely.
As far as the Southampton match tomorrow night is concerned, we all know what to expect from them, but we're confident of doing well at St. Mary's.
Obviously their main threats are Lee Barnard and Rickie Lambert who have scored a lot of goals between them, and are top quality strikers.

Some may fear them but you play football to test yourself against some of the best, so I'm looking forward to playing against two of the best strikers in the league.
I actually played with Rickie at Stockport a few years ago and he's done fantastically well for himself. Like a lot of the boys in this league he's a bit of a unit, but he's a very good footballer as well who has scored a lot of goals so it'll be really tough for me and Scotty but we're looking forward to it.
The win at the weekend opened up a five point gap between us in 6th and Huddersfield in 7th, but we're just thinking about the next game rather than the play-offs because there is still quite a way to go.
It'll be tough tomorrow night and we know it - especially with all the injuries we've picked up recently - but I'm confident we can put on a good performance and get something from the game.
Apparently we are expecting a lot of fans to travel down too, and hopefully our ever brilliant support will help spur us on.
See you there,

Gordon Greer
