The new league season dawned with so much hope and eager anticipation.....
The signing of Thomas Dossevi, the news that Simon Ferry and Paul Caddis were heading south to make a permanent home in Swindon, and a spruced up County Ground with the perfect playing surface all promised so much, but are so far yet to deliver.
But, after frustrating defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion and a cup loss to Leyton Orient thanks to the Curse of Alex Revell and the absence of Lady Luck, some fantastic resolve from Danny Wilson's boys saw them pick up a deserved point from this Saturday's trip to Hartlepool United.

It was the worst of all starts, but it was great to see them pull two goals back in the second half, and it should have been three, but at least the draw made the southbound journey more pleasurable than it might otherwise have been.
And now, after a highly impressive reserve team performance against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday afternoon which saw the Pilgrims leave The County Ground four goals worse off for their efforts, confidence is building ahead of Brentford's visit this Saturday's fixture.
To you all, enjoy The County Ground experience this weekend,

Nick Watkins
