Gosh, what a game that was!
Now after a six and a half hour journey from the South West to the North East, the last thing you want is for your team to go two goals down in 12 minutes.
Victoria Park was, as always, a lovely welcoming ground, until Hartlepool hit Swindon with that early blast.
Much has been said and written about the defensive frailties of the early season, and they surfaced again last weekend. However great credit must go to the team for the fightback.
Thomas Dossevi's first Town goal was a great finish, and Charlie's equaliser was a joy to watch.

I thought there'd be a winner, and there very nearly was right at the death.
However a point would have been acceptable before the game, and almost a miracle after 12 minutes.
Now we hear that Chris Turner's time in the Pool dugout is over, after standing down as the club's Director of Sport.
It was interesting that Hartlepool's substitutions on Saturday, really started the tide turning the Town's way. When Boyd and Brown came off, I think Swindon supporters thought the home side might have taken the three points for granted.

So what happens now…?
Well what everybody wants against Brentford on Saturday is a win. The first point of the new campaign is on the board, but there's nothing quite like that opening victory.
I know that Danny rates Brentford, and it won't be an easy game.
It would be lovely to think there'd be over 10,000 at the County Ground again, but I think that may be a touch optimistic. But it doesn't matter how many are there, as long as the team gets a positive backing.
Everybody makes mistakes, and they don't want to be reminded of them by being booed.
On another note, it does make you smile when you're working in Devon, and Plymouth Argyle reserves get thrashed 4-0 by the Town's second team.

Yes I was rather pleased when that result came through, and had a little grin on my face when I read the result in BBC Radio Devon's sports news. Still I must not laugh... well not much anyway!
And a word about Dave Byrne: I wish Dave well is his future career as whenever he stepped in as caretaker manager, he put his heart and soul into the job.
He always thanked the fans, and made them feel a part of the club, so good luck to him and thanks.
So onto Saturday, make it loud, make it proud, make it SWINDON.
Till next week,
Vic
