Swindon Town FC recently announced a new partnership with Electronics giant Samsung to launch a search for an unknown footballer who will become a professional player with the club.

Players of all abilities can enter Samsung's 'Win A Pro Contract' competition.

The winner will be offered a one-year professional playing contract with Swindon Town FC.

'Win A Pro Contract' hopefuls will have to take part in trials and matches in a bid to hit the football big-time.

Samsung Sponsorship Account Director, Martin Howard said: "The 'Win A Pro Contract' project reinforces Samsung's commitment to sport and further shows how we are providing opportunities for people to fulfil their potential.

"Samsung is passionate about sports marketing and to give someone a life changing experience through sport represents an exciting next step for us.

"We look forward to developing this relationship and through this exciting project reaching football fans nationwide."

Regional trials are going to be held at Goals Soccer Centres throughout the UK, where players will be monitored by club scouts and expert talent spotters from the Footballcv Academy.

The best players at the trials go forward to take part in matches at three professional club grounds across the country.

The top 22 players then appear in the Samsung 'Win A Pro Contract' Final at Swindon Town's County Ground towards the end of the year.

The winner will be selected by Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson, and invited to sign a professional playing contract and join the club in January 2011.

Swindon Town FC Chief Executive Nick Watkins said: "We are delighted to be part of the 'Win A Pro Contract' initiative and the nationwide search to identify one talented individual who will be offered a one year professional football contract.

"Swindon Town FC would be only too delighted if at the end of the project the new Charlie Austin was to be unearthed, as his success story is what many a childhood dream is made of."

The winning player will be given a boot deal by sports retailer JJB, and feature on the cover of FourFourTwo, as the football magazine charts the progress of the rookie professional.

He will also become a Football Ambassador for Samsung and Goals Soccer Centres.

Swindon Town Manager Danny Wilson said: "This is a great idea which has got everyone at the club really excited.

"We're looking forward to working with Samsung and FourFourTwo to find a player who can make the step up."
