Every Friday, Town Assistant Peter Shirtliff keeps you updated on the week's going on at The County Ground.
This week, he reflects on five days dictated largely by the elements......
It's been a disruptive week and has been difficult with the conditions to get anything really useful done, but everybody's in the same boat I would imagine and you just have to get on with it which we have.
On MONDAY we had training on an Astroturf pitch which a local school had very kindly let us use.
We didn't really get to do anything we'd normally get done on the grass for obvious reasons, and it was more small sided games, and technique stuff.
There was a bit of running involved as well but no real team play because part of the Astro was too frozen to do that, but it was good to get outside nonetheless.
We also saw the departures of Alex Revell and Anthony McNamee on Monday, both of which were pretty inevitable. They both did well for us while they were here this season but we move onwards and upwards now.
We were on the same pitch on TUESDAY and worked to a similar formula as we had done on Monday, with small sided games and fitness work.
With the weather being as it was there was a feeling that the match at MK Dons would probably be off at the weekend but it was important we prepared as if the game's going to be on, and we just had to do the best we could and imagine it's going to be on, which we did.

Away from the weather, Alan Sheehan signed until the end of the season which is great news, while Danny Ward is also here for another month which I was pleased with and let's hope that can be extended further.
Danny has done ok since he's been here and looks as though he can play in a couple of positions for us, and I hope we can continue to see the type of form he showed when he came on against Yeovil, which was fantastic.
WEDNESDAY was the usual day off for the boys, so they were out enjoying the snow.
On THURSDAY we went up to the Next Generation gym in Swindon and did what was basically a circuit session.
Obviously it wasn't football related but it was a good work out for the players and probably the best we could have hoped for given the conditions.
Unfortunately we've been unable to sort out anywhere to train on FRIDAY. We had planned to have quite a physical session on an indoor Astroturf pitch, but it's been closed which is a shame.
It means the boys will have a day off and a long weekend, which will probably do them good as we've got a lot of games coming up.

There will probably be a few calls regarding transfer movement over the weekend, as this is always a busy time of year, but Danny and I will deal with them as they come.
We've got one or two transfer possibilities which we're hoping will come to fruition, and we're looking to improve all the time.
I've mentioned it before, but it is a job which is constantly in progress and we've got to be patient.
But that's how you've got to be in football and particularly at this time, but I think this club can keep moving forward throughout the season.
Personally I don't like the transfer windows. I can understand why they were brought in, but in terms of the lower league clubs I don't think it's fair at all and it makes things a little bit more difficult than they should be.
But we've got it and we've got to live with it which we will do.
As far my weekend is concerned, I'm going to see if there are any games to go and watch, but the likelihood is here's not going to be a lot on so the wife might even get to see me!
Enjoy the snow,

Peter Shirtliff
