Danny and I were both pretty disappointed with the performance and Wycombe last Saturday, and apart from Dave Lucas, it was difficult to see one player who had played to his potential.

But sometimes that happens, and looking at the positives, they came back from a goal down twice and stuck at it pretty well.

We managed to nick a point despite having played very poorly, so we've got to take that at least and move on.

Nothing's changed, we're still in the same position and at the start of the season we were only looking to be in contention for the play-offs, not necessarily make them, so we've done well and we just have to see what the next two games bring.

The players were a little bit down on MONDAY with the Wycombe result still in mind, but as Danny and I have mentioned previously, there is no point getting at them when they play poorly, so we tried to take the positives from Saturday.

They're only human, and everyone has an off day so we tried to get them to move on from it early on in the session.

It was a good one in the end, and I think most of the cobwebs from the weekend were blown away, but one or two still looked tired so we decided to give them a couple of days off after that.

It's getting towards that time of year when most of the games have been played by a certain number of players, so we have to look after them and give them some rest - which we did.

With no players in on TUESDAY, I took the opportunity to make my way up to another game to have a look at a couple of players.

It was a bit of a drive if I'm honest, but that didn't bother me as it was a worthwhile trip.

Obviously there is a problem with who we can look at at the moment because we still don't know what level we're going to be playing at next year.

It's the same with all sorts of other things, like planning pre-season, but we just have to get on with it.

The reserves had a game in the cup in the evening, which the manager went along to while I was at the other match.

We had a strong side out in that game up at Supermarine, and managed to win it too which was a bonus.

According to Danny it was a difficult pitch to play on but the lads worked hard and did ok, but more importantly it was some more valuable game time for the ones who haven't played as much as some other players.

It keeps that general squad fitness level topped up a lot of those players are likely to be needed over the next three or four weeks.

WEDNESDAY was another day away from the club for the players, as they were readying themselves for the last couple of training sessions before the weekend.

When they came back in on THURSDAY they looked a lot better for their time off, which was good to see as it had clearly done the trick.

We went through a few structural things for the Brentford game, and the players looked a lot sharper and a lot brighter than they had done at the start of the week.

The pitches had been pretty firm up at The Liddington for a while - hence our training at The County Ground last week, but luckily the rain we've had this week had helped a lot with the conditions there, and we managed to work a little more comfortably.

It was a similar sort of session on FRIDAY, with a little bit of shape work, and a bit more small sided team play.

The players looked in very good shape, and very confident ahead of tomorrow's game against Brentford which was great to see as we need a result from it.

As far as Brentford are concerned, they'll give us another tough game I'm sure, as they're on a great run of form at the moment.

But having seen the players towards the end of the week, and with the quality we've got in the squad, I'm confident we can go out and get the three points - then it's just a case of hoping for the best!

See you at The County Ground,
