This whole week has obviously been geared towards the game at Millwall tomorrow, but we haven't done anything massively different to what we would normally do - everyone's perhaps a little more excited than usual, but apart from that it has been no different to a normal week.
Firstly, and from a personal point of view I was disappointed to have seen my old team Sheffield Wednesday get relegated last weekend.
To be fair to Crystal Palace they did very well to climb out of trouble having been deducted 10 points for going into administration, and although it was a shame to see a club like Wednesday go down, that is football, and I'm sure they'll be back.
As far as tomorrow is concerned it's obviously a massive game and will produce a fair amount of nerves among the fans.
I've had a similar experience of a crucial final day match this time last season when I was at Tranmere.
We needed to beat Scunthorpe to get into the play-offs, and were 1-0 up with five minutes left, but had a man sent off and conceded from the resultant free-kick which was enough to keep us out of it.

It was unbelievable really, but again that is football and to be fair we had punched above our weight for a lot of that season.
Our preparation this week has gone very well, and the boys have looked sharp and bright throughout, and as I mentioned there is a real buzz around the camp.
But with one final league game left (potentially) we've looked to take the pressure off them this week, if you can call it pressure.
To be honest I think it's more excitement really, and this weekend it will be more about making the right decisions under that excitable environment than making the decisions under pressure.
Obviously different players react differently to situations and games like this, but it really is a matter of keeping cool heads and not trying to do too much differently.

But the main thing is for us to just relax and not get too uptight and expend our energy through nervousness - which is something that often happens on days like tomorrow will be, but if we can keep calm then I genuinely believe we'll be fine.
It's a one off game that both sides will be looking to win, and everyone at the club is very much looking forward to it.
We've had a tremendous second half of the season when you think that we only accumulated 37 points in the first half, but at the end of the day we might finish the season on 85 points and still miss out, so we'll just take it as it comes.
As far as Millwall are concerned, their main threat will be up front with Morison and Harris and they've got one or two other options as well so there's quite a lot of variety for them.

They haven't got up where they are by being a bad side. They are a decent unit and have been over the last few years or so under Kenny Jackett.
But we've just got to play our own game - we more than matched them here back in October, and the turning point in that game was Jonathan Douglas' sending off, as we were well on top before that.
They had a man sent off late on as well and funnily enough they played much better against us with 10 men than they had done with 11.
So it's two teams that play in slightly different styles but are quite evenly matched, and hopefully it will be a good game of football rather than the frantic episode we saw in the Sheffield Wednesday versus Crystal Palace match last week - which was of a similar magnitude to this.
See you at The Den,

Peter Shirtliff
