Lawrie Sanchez joined Town towards the end of the ill-fated 1993/94 Premiership season, and was a near ever present for John Gorman's side as their inevitable relegation was sealed.
Having made over 250 appearances for both Reading and Wimbledon in the 16 years previous to joining The Robins, it is fair to say Sanchez was in the twilight of his career by the time he arrived at The County Ground.
His days spent at Selhurst Park as part of Dave Bassett's 'Crazy Gang' alongside the likes of Vinnie Jones, Dennis Wise and Dave Beasant are the most noteworthy of his footballing career, although his time spent at Town included two of the club's most memorable Premiership performances.
The first of which - a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United - was Sanchez's debut, and a game from which he still has many memories.

Speaking to Swindontownfc.co.uk upon his return to The County Ground for the League One fixture against Charlton Athletic on February 6th, Sanchez reminisced about what was an enjoyable if ultimately unsuccessful spell in Wiltshire.
"I remember on my debut we drew 2-2 with Manchester United and (Eric) Cantona trod all over John Moncur," he said.
"(Former Town Manager) John Gorman told me my first job as a Swindon player would be to mark Eric Cantona, to which I said 'thank you very much!'"
"But we got a decent result and then the next week we went to Highbury and drew 1-1 with Arsenal so we had a half decent end to the season really.

"As I said my first game was against Manchester United marking Eric Cantona, and then my last game was against Leeds when we lost 5-0 and I was at right back marking Gordon Strachan so it was quite an interesting time all in all!"
He continued: "I would have liked to have come here a bit earlier when they had a chance of staying up but by the time I got here they were pretty much relegated and it was just the remnants of the season which was a pity.
"Even though I wasn't here long, I enjoyed my time because it's a lovely club and it was a shame I couldn't be here longer."
Sanchez added that, while circumstances often limit the amount of contact one can keep with former team mates, he has enjoyed the company of a few of Town's Premiership survivors on a few occasions in recent months.

He said: "I saw Jan Aage Fjortoft over in Norway last year at a coaching conference, and he is now the Gary Lineker of Norwegian football!
"I always bump into Paul Bodin when I'm back here, and I had dinner with John Gorman the other night as well so you do see the odd person around.
"That's the football world: you move around so much you're just bound to meet certain people here and there."
And as far as Swindon Town in 2010, Sanchez is certain the club has more than enough potential to hold their own at a higher level.

He said: "Looking at the facilities, the ground and the club in general I think Swindon could easily be a Championship club.
"The crowds would start coming out as well, and I think in The Championship they'd end up getting around 15,000 back here again especially for the big games.
"We saw the potential of the club when they were in the Premier League as it was sold out every week.
"I think The Championship is probably Swindon's natural level and I think they could hold their own up there."
