Wayne Allison made 117 appearances for Swindon during his two-and-a-half year spell at the County Ground, with his goals and ability as a powerful target-man helping Town to the 1995/96 Nationwide Division Two title.
'The Chief' joined the club from West County rivals Bristol City for £475,000 in 1995 season and, despite his previous club, he quickly won over The County Ground faithful with his all-action hold-up play and eye for goal.
Allison scored his first goal for Town in a 1-1 derby-day draw at home to Oxford as he struck an immediate partnership with fellow new signing Steve Finney.

The pair fired Town back to the second tier at the first attempt, scoring 36 goals between them, and Allison had become a firm fans' favourite.
The title-winning season was to be Allison's most prolific campaign during his time at the club, but the striker continued to impress back in Division One.
He bagged 13 goals the following season, including both in a 2-0 home win against Manchester City and one in the 6-0 demolition of his boyhood club Huddersfield Town.
Steve McMahon's Town side enjoyed a strong start to life back in Division One, with Allison scoring the winner against Charlton in March as they established themselves in mid-table.

However McMahon's men took only five points from their last eight games to slump to 19th, with Allison failing to add to his tally.
Allison started the 1997-98 campaign well, scoring three times in the first seven games.
But the goals unfortunately dried up, not scoring in 11 games, and with the club in financial trouble, an £800,000 bid from Huddersfield was accepted and the striker headed north.
After a couple of years with The Terriers, Allison also enjoyed spells with Tranmere, Sheffield United and Chesterfield before retiring to pursue a coaching career.
He has enjoyed short spells on the coaching staff at Chesterfield, Bury and Chester, and now assists Les Parry at Tranmere.
